It is during this time of the American Revolution that there was a tug of war between those who felt the King and Parliament were acting within their right to control the colonies and those who felt the rights of the colonists were being violated and they should actively resist the King and Parliament. This leads us to the Sons of Liberty who stood strongly opposed to the King and Parliament. The Sons of Liberty resisted in many ways that were peaceful and powerful, but at the same time some of their resistance had the feel of anarchy and mob rule
